Fred Schueler for ON Nature

In the fall I had the pleasure of photographing Biologist/Naturalist Fred Schueler for ON Nature Magazine. Fred and his wife Aleta catch and research mudpuppies in Kemptville, and I had no idea what mudpuppies were when I first got the email.

Turns out they're not puppies in mud, but a rather a salamander like creature.They only hunt them at night, so we made an afternoon swamp look like evening. Fred and Aleta were wonderful and chatted with us about their history and work. Turns out Aleta is a painter as well, with a painting included in the article.
