David Halton for Maclean's

I had the pleasure of photographing David Halton recently for Maclean's Magazine. David had a lengthy career with CBC News as a senior correspondent all over the globe, including a 14 year stint in Washington DC until he left the CBC in 2005.

David is nominated for the RBC Taylor Prize for his book about his father: Dispatches from the Front: The Life of Matthew Halton, Canada's Voice at War.

Matthew too was an esteemed broadcaster with CBC, famously working overseas as the senior war correspondent during WWII.

We photographed David in his home looking through old photos of his father and telling stories from each of their careers. Such a lovely man, a real class act.

Below are a couple behind the scenes shots. It seems I had an extra assistant on set that day!
