Cannabis Awareness Campaign for CMA

Last month I had the pleasure of working with Banfield and the Canadian Medical Association to produce a series of portraits for their campaign about cannabis awareness. Scroll on for more:

We had three real medical students who volunteered for this shoot. There was also a video component where they were asked a variety of questions and they would respond candidly. They were all fantastic to work with!

Technical Information:

The key light was a Profoto D2 with a Deep White XL Umbrella with diffusion and a CTO gel. I did so in order to shift the orange light on the subject to neutral, which in turn shifts the neutral white studio cove to a pale blue. I also used the continuous LED panel from the video team on the background, which was shifted slightly blue as well. There was a reflector for fill on the subject to help fill in shadows.

Lights were triggered and controlled by Air Sync and Air USB. I shot on a Nikon D850 with the Sigma 85mm 1.4 Art, tethered to CaptureOne via TetherTools to my Apple MacBook Pro in an SKB case.
